Aim

Firesharp Design creates art. I am motivated by the desire and need to create. Whatever tools I happen to be using; a hammer and chisel, a paintbrush or a PC, creativity is always of paramount importance to my work.

My unique blend of skills, knowledge and experience allow me to connect art and design in a way that very often leads to solutions and/or products that could be produced by no one else. Throughout the years I've been working as a creative, it's been this fact above any other that has drawn many to the services offered by Firesharp Design.

Services

Web Development

Websites by Firesharp Design are artistic, contemporary, innovative and usable. I draw upon my artistic skills and knowledge to build websites for individuals, businesses, galleries and organisations.

I work very closely with my clients, carefully tailoring sites to their needs so customers are always guaranteed unique web solutions. I am happy to set-up sites from scratch, working right through to completion: locating web space and a domain name, search engine submission and optimisation etc., or, I can work on existing sites and merely make necessary alterations.

Furthermore, I work extremely hard to maintain good after-sales relationships with customers; performing regular updates and making any changes or additions.

Fine Art Painting

I both sell paintings and work to commission.

I am moved and inspired by landscape and architecture. More specifically, the impression and feeling these produce. Hence, I paint to create or recreate the feeling or atmosphere of spaces and places. This means the nature of my painting is inherently abstract, even in cases where an easily recognisable image is represented.

Stone Sculpture

As a trained stone sculptor I'm able to carve for a variety of purposes, including anything from: free-standing artistic sculpture to architectural stone carving, (For both new and old buildings), to letter cutting for signs and plaques.

I work to commission and am able to create site-specific stone sculpture for your private residence, gardens or work place.

History

After completing my A-levels I took a year out to work alongside an arboricultural company as a self-employed tree surgeon. During the year I used most of my spare time to build up a strong portfolio of artwork.

The following year, September 1996, I was awarded a scholarship by the Sir John Cass's Foundation to study stone carving at the City & Guilds of London Art School.

I graduated in June 1999 with a very successful final year show, winning the Executive Committee Prize for Outstanding Work in the Graduate Show.

Whilst at art school I put together my first online portfolio. I soon discovered that I had a keen interest in web design. So, in response to some very positive feedback I received from viewers, I quickly developed my skills and technical abilities so that I could produce sites of professional quality for other people. Shortly thereafter I began designing commercially on a freelance basis. I continue to do this and derive a great deal of enjoyment from my work.

I intersperse fine art projects between my Internet work. Managing my time in this way helps maintain a level of objectivity I may not be able to achieve where I to work consistently at only one thing.

Art Sales

My art sales are made mostly to private buyers. However, my clients have included The Ritz Hotel London and VISA International.

I've exhibited stone sculpture at the Henley Upon Thames Art Festival, the Chelsea Flower Show as well as the Natural Stone Show.
